About Gayle

Gayle Ballantyne was a self-taught pen-ink and watercolor artist. Her roots were firmly planted in Northern Ontario. Living by the lake, she was able to take a walk and capture photos of nature, animals, flowers, rocks, water and trees – all an inspiration for her work. During her career she would create home and cottage renderings in watercolor and deep-ink. She taught students locally which includes some top local artistic talent in Timmins today. She was always excited to see people share in the same passion for artwork.

Sadly, Gayle passed away peacefully in April of 2017 after a short but courageous battle with her health. Her Art will live on as a timeless reflection of her creativity. She will be forever missed by her friends, family and the art community of Timmins.
